A PDF is useful when fonts are outlined, images are embedded at sufficient resolution, colors are intentional and the file contains the final approved artwork rather than a low-quality preview.
Raster Files Need Resolution
PNG, TIFF and JPEG files can work when the original is large and sharp. Screenshots, social-media downloads and compressed email previews often lack enough detail for large-format output.

What Should a Race Team Send to the Graphics Shop?
Send the original AI, EPS, SVG or print-ready PDF whenever possible. Outline or package fonts, embed linked images, remove hidden concepts, identify the approved version and include a color reference. For raster logos, send the largest original PNG, TIFF or JPEG and avoid enlarging a small web image. Include exact finished dimensions, bleed when appropriate, panel photographs, installation orientation, quantities and the final deadline. Do not assume a file is vector simply because it is saved as PDF; raster images can be placed inside a PDF.
