Personal watercraft lettering

Jet Ski and PWC Registration Numbers

Create compact, readable registration numbers for Jet Skis and other personal watercraft while accounting for curved panels, molded textures and limited installation space.

Small Craft Still Need Clear Numbers

When a personal watercraft must be registered, its assigned number and validation decals generally need to follow the issuing state’s display rules. Confirm the required location and format before ordering.

Core Display Requirements

  • Measure the smooth usable area on both sides.
  • Avoid compound curves, vents, seams and textured plastic.
  • Use strong contrast against graphics and body color.
  • Choose plain characters that remain readable at the required height.
  • Dry-fit the complete transfer before applying it.

Curves and Plastic Create Challenges

A layout that fits on paper may distort across a compound curve. Some low-surface-energy or textured plastics also resist standard vinyl adhesives, so identify the actual material before installation.

Keep the Layout Simple

Bold block characters, practical spacing and a high-contrast color usually work better than decorative effects in a narrow area. Use a full-size proof to confirm the final width.

Send Photos Before Production

Provide straight-on photos of both sides, the exact registration number, watercraft model, body color and usable dimensions. Same Day Vinyl can recommend a practical layout or flag a questionable surface.
