Where Florida Boat Numbers Go
Numbers belong on both sides of the forward half of the vessel, above the waterline. The number should remain visible, legible, and free from other markings that could make it hard to identify.

Core Display Requirements
- Use the state prefix FL exactly as assigned on your registration.
- Use plain block characters at least three inches high.
- Read the complete number from left to right.
- Use a strongly contrasting color against the hull or background panel.
- Separate letter and number groups with hyphens or spaces equal to a character width.
Validation Decal Placement
Place the annual validation decal within six inches before or after the registration number on the port side. Install decals only after cleaning and drying the surface, and keep them visible for inspection.
