Choose specifications for vinyl lettering and printed graphics
Start with the surface and the job
Choose vinyl graphics specifications by surface, artwork, exposure and installation needs. Prepare material details for a confirmed quote.ent condition and whether existing graphics must be removed. Provide photographs and dimensions. A screen preview cannot confirm adhesion to a particular coating, the condition of paint or suitability for a compound curve. Ask production to confirm a compatible construction before approving the order.
Choose cut lettering or printed artwork
Cut lettering is useful when the design can be made from individual shapes in selected vinyl colors. Printed graphics support artwork with images, gradients or multiple colors in a single design. The appropriate construction depends on the artwork and the intended surface. Supply the original logo or design file where possible, and identify details that must remain legible at the final size. Small text and intricate shapes need review at production scale.
Document finish, exposure and removal needs
Tell the team whether the graphics will face outdoor exposure, frequent cleaning or marine use. State whether a matte or gloss appearance is important and whether a laminate is specified. Do not select a product by an assumed lifetime alone: expected service depends on the selected material, installation, surface condition and care. Request the manufacturer information for the actual material offered in the quote. No particular brand, warranty term or durability period is promised by this checklist.
Give the installer the final specification
For printed wrap panels, have the installer approve the panel dimensions, bleed, overlap and orientation. A vehicle model name alone is not a complete production specification. Keep the approved proof, material description and panel labels together. For boat registration and commercial vehicle identifiers, confirm the required text and display rules separately from decorative graphics. The material selection does not certify legal compliance. Shipping costs, production timing and installation arrangements must be confirmed before the job is released.
