WHAT TO CHECK.
BEFORE YOU ORDER.
Start with the researched considerations for your project. National rules remain national; your registration jurisdiction may differ from your shipping destination.
Reserve space for contractor license information
California CSLB says licensed contractors must include their license number when advertising services, including vehicle lettering. Before designing a truck door or trailer, provide the business identity and license number you intend to display. Keep this text separate from the slogan and phone number so it cannot disappear during a layout revision. Ask CSLB about requirements for your classification and vehicle; the design tool does not determine which advertising rules apply.
Separate contractor credentials from carrier identifiers
A contractor license number and a USDOT identifier serve different purposes. If your vehicle needs both, list them as separate proof items and have the responsible person verify each one. Do not substitute a company logo for required identification or assume the same layout fits every body style. Measure around door handles, trim and storage compartments. For a mixed fleet, use a vehicle schedule with one approved text block and clearly identified exceptions instead of editing each vehicle from memory.

PROJECT BRIEF.
Use the assigned CF number for boat lettering
California DMV distinguishes the vessel registration number, which begins with CF, from the hull identification number. Use your assigned registration for the visible lettering order; do not copy the HIN into the boat-number designer. DMV’s display guidance covers bow placement, readable block characters, contrast and spacing. Review those instructions and the applicable stickers before choosing dimensions. Provide a photograph of the bow with existing stickers visible so the proof can reserve their space. Decorative boat names should be planned separately.
Coordinate print supply with your installer
For a California wrap delivery, send the installer’s panel map with final dimensions, overlap, bleed and orientation. Identify whether the order is for a complete set or selected replacement panels. Ask the installer to confirm the surface condition and the material construction offered in the quote. Screen previews cannot establish adhesion or installation suitability. Same Day Vinyl supplies printed wrap graphics without installation, so arrange the installation appointment around confirmed production and carrier estimates rather than a tentative ship date.
Make the quote complete before artwork release
Include quantities, artwork files, the receiving ZIP code and any separate delivery addresses. State whether the recipient is your business or the installer and name the person who can accept the shipment. Request confirmed pricing, freight and production availability before approving the proof. Keep the final license text, phone number, artwork revision and panel labels together for reorders. This is an ordering hub for shipped products; no California office, installation crew or regulatory approval is claimed.
