Verify the MHIC identity before approving contractor graphics
The Maryland Home Improvement Commission advises checking that a license number displayed on a vehicle is valid and belongs to that contractor.

Verify the MHIC identity before approving contractor graphics
The Maryland Home Improvement Commission advises checking that a license number displayed on a vehicle is valid and belongs to that contractor. It also cautions that advertising claims alone do not prove licensing. For your artwork, provide the business name and confirmed credential text, then have the responsible owner approve them together. This is a proof-checking step, not a claim that a decal establishes licensure or that every Maryland trade follows the same display rule.
Use one approved identity sheet for a fleet rebrand
Create a sheet containing the approved company name, phone number, website, logo version and any credential wording you intend to display. Assign a revision date and a person who can authorize changes. For each truck or trailer, list which fields appear and measure the available panel. If a business name or credential changes during the project, stop the affected proofs and update the sheet before producing more pieces. Do not mix old and new identity information across vehicles.

PROJECT BRIEF.
Resolve boat-record differences before ordering characters
Maryland DNR instructs owners to compare the hull identification number on the vessel with the ownership documents and contact a service center if they differ. Its guidance also requires a documented use decal for Coast Guard documented vessels used principally in Maryland. Identify your vessel’s status before choosing a graphics product. Custom registration characters or boat-name lettering cannot correct an ownership record, replace an official use decal or resolve a mismatch in the hull identification number.
Keep boat, contractor and sponsor artwork in separate proof files
An MHIC number, a boat registration number and a race number are unrelated identifiers. Label each proof by product and asset rather than sending an unlabeled list of numbers. For boats, reserve the appropriate official-decal area in the measured layout. For contractor fleets, compare the approved identity sheet against every vehicle variation. For race graphics, obtain the team’s current sponsor and number instructions. Store the accepted proof with the order specification so a future replacement uses the right version.
Give the receiving installer a complete package list
For Maryland shipments, tell us who will receive and inspect the order and provide the destination ZIP code. Group custom decals, lettering sets and printed wrap panels by vehicle or vessel, with left and right pieces identified. Have the independent installer approve panel dimensions and installation details before print production. Request confirmation of material availability, freight and timing through the quote process. Orders ship nationwide, installation is arranged separately, and arrival timing is confirmed during quote review.
