Quality vinyl and adhesive should tolerate normal marine exposure when installed on a clean, smooth and compatible surface. No vinyl can overcome heavy oxidation, wax, unstable paint or an unsuitable textured plastic.

The Hull Surface Matters
Smooth gelcoat, painted aluminum and compatible finished surfaces commonly accept vinyl after proper cleaning. Textured polyethylene, inflatable fabric, silicone-treated surfaces and chalky finishes may require another solution.
Prepare for Strong Adhesion
Remove salt, dirt, wax, polish, oil and old adhesive. Install in suitable temperature conditions, keep the adhesive clean and use firm overlapping squeegee strokes. Allow the bond to develop before washing or launching.
