Plan Around the Pontoon Structure
Pontoon rails, gates, rub rails, corrugated panels and graphics can limit usable placement. Choose a smooth, visible area on the forward portion of both sides that follows your state’s display rules.

Core Display Requirements
- Measure both port and starboard installation areas.
- Avoid rail seams, fasteners and heavily corrugated surfaces.
- Select high contrast against the actual panel color.
- Use plain, readable characters in the required size.
- Confirm validation-decal placement before final positioning.
Panel Material and Texture Matter
Painted aluminum and smooth pontoon panels can accept properly selected vinyl when cleaned and stable. Textured, oxidized or coated surfaces may need testing or another mounting method.
Matched Numbers for Both Sides
A registration order should normally include a port and starboard set. Pre-spaced transfer tape keeps the format consistent and makes it easier to align the complete number on each side.
Measure, Proof and Order
Send the assigned number, panel color, available width and height, and straight-on photos of both sides. Same Day Vinyl will prepare the layout for approval before production.
